The Cottages are all part of the Alderholt Mill formerly used as the Warehouse and the millers cottage. The Mill itself stands on an Island formed by the River Allen, a small tributary that joins the River Avon. The mill is a working water mill and can be seen working on weekends with demonstrations on Sunday afternoons at 3pm. Other times by arrangement. Cream teas with Dorset clotted cream served 2.30pm - 5.30pm Saturday and Sundays only. All the cottages have been tastefully restored showing all the original beams and very comfortably furnished sleeping 2 - 6 people. We welcome Fisherman who would like to fish, Graying, Trout are two to the species available, and we can supply a bait fridge, and lock up for fishing tackle.

The Granary Sleeps 4 to 6 people. Situated on the first and second floor of the Old Warehouse pictured on the left hand side on the main picture with access via a staircase on the outside is magnificent with a lovely lounge with a very high ceiling right to the rafters giving a lovely big room furnished with very comfortable furniture and to a very high standard, with TV, radio, CD and DVD player A fight of stairs leads to the main galleried bedroom open to the roof and a separate bathroom with beamed ceiling. This beautiful bedroom is not suitable for the less agile as part of the original mill beams runs through it at knee height with steps over. On the first floor there is also a double bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower. Extra visitors can be put up on the sofa bed in the lounge area.

MID-MILL Sleeps 2 Mid-Mill is a ground floor flat that links the old mill and the main house. This very comfortable flat comprises of a sitting/dining room with TV radio, C D and DVD player. Bathroom with bath and shower and a gallery kitchen, with direct access to the rear garden.

Miller's End Sleeps 2 Millers End is in the original part of the Millers 's Cottage with a beautiful beamed sitting room with a large fireplace, comfortable chairs, television. A beamed double bedroom with en-suite bath and shower. The kitchen comes equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave and all you need for the perfect holiday.

All guests are welcome to use the large garden which offers lots of interest including a wildlife pond, bog garden and stream where wildlife abounds, Kingfishers and Herons are frequent visitors. The scenery is lovely so come and have a really relaxing holiday in an Ideal Retreat. It is easy to
visit the city of Salisbury from here and explore the many attractions in and around the New Forest.
