Avon View is a picturesque early 19th century New Forest cottage, in the quiet village of Woodgreen, and positioned in the north, west corner of The New Forest. It is 10 miles south of the city Salisbury, 16 miles east of Southampton & 20 miles to the north of Bournemouth & Christchurch.

From here you can walk on the open forest or the Avon Valley path, fish the river Avon, cycle the many lanes and tracks, or just relax at Avon View and enjoy the village, with its large village green, Public House and a good Village shop

Avon View is full of character, with old flag stone floors, lots of beams, an Inglenook fireplace in the guests Drawing Room, where afternoon tea is served on your arrival, and soft classical music is played in the background.

In the guests Dining Room there is a wood burning stove that is lit in the cold winter mornings, whilst you work you way through the wonderful breakfast menu of, Cereal, Fruit juice, Yogurt, Fresh Fruit plate, Home made bread, Croissants, Home made Jams, Marmalade, local Honey, Boiled Goose Eggs (when in season), Smoked Kippers, and full English Breakfast.

At Avon View we offer you two very comfortable Bedrooms, with Queen sized beds or Twin beds, with wonderful white bedding.

All rooms have en-suite Bathrooms with original Victorian roll-top baths, colour television, fresh fruit bowl, bottled water and tea & coffee making facilities.

The rooms look south-west towards the Avon Valley and the River Avon.

HOW TO FIND US

AVON VIEW is located in the village of Woodgreen, in the north west corner of the New Forest. 10 miles south of the city of Salisbury, 16 miles east of Southampton, and 20 miles to the north of Bournemouth.

From SALISBURY - Take the A338 south for 9 miles to the village of Breamore; on passing The Bat and Ball public house turn left where it’s sign-posted Woodgreen. Continue over the old railway bridge and the river Avon into the village.On reaching the village post office/shop take the small lane to the right sign-posted Godshill. Continue on for 300 metres and turn left into small lane, AVON VIEW is then on your right.
From LONDON & SOUTHAMPTON: - West bound, leave M27 at junction 1 sign-posted The New Forest. Take the B3079 north to the village of Brook On passing the Bell Hotel take the left fork B3078 sign-posted Fordingbridge. Continue for 8 miles until you reach the Fighting Cocks public house. Turn right immediately afterwards signposted Woodgreen, & continue down this small lane through the water-splash (Ford) for 2 miles; on reaching Woodgreen turn right into Brook Lane, continue for 30 metres and turn left into very small lane, proceed to AVONVIEW’s driveway on left.

Alternative route (if water-splash impassable) after heavy rain or ice. Leaving the village of Brook on the B3078 for Fordingbridge, then after 3 miles take the right fork B3080 sign-posted Downton, Continue for 2 miles to Hale Purlieu and take the left turn sign-posted Woodgreen, Continue for 500 metres, to the cross roads. Turn left sign-posted Woodgreen,continue for 2 miles until you reach the large village green on your left; At the post box turn left into this lane and continue for350 metres turn right into very small lane proceed to AVON VIEW’s driveway on left.

From BOURNEMOUTH & RINGWOOD: - Take the A338 north at Ringwood sign-posted Salisbury; Continue for 9 miles to the village of Breamore. Turn right to Woodgreen; Continue over the old railway bridge and the river Avon into the village. At the village post-office/shop take the small lane to the right sign-posted Godshill. Continue on for 300 metres and turn left into small lane AVON VIEW is then on your right.
