Cherry Tree Cottage is situated in the village of Downton
which has ancient origins and remains and within walking distant
of 2 public houses with very good food, and a further two
public houses slightly further away. Shops include a local
bakery, small supermarket, chemist and post office.
The Village itself is on the river Avon and is ideal for
local walks, including a riverside walk to nearby Trafalgar
House (home of Lord Nelson,) and the 18th century landscaped
garden, The Moot.
As we are situated adjacent to the New Forest lovely days
can be had enjoying the beautiful country side, watching the
forest ponies and visiting the many attractions and museums
throughout the area.
The city of Salisbury is only a 10 minute drive away, where
you have the famous Cathedral and a weekly market on Tuesday's.
Stone Henge is easy to visit from your base at Cherry Tree
Cottage.
