Cherry Tree Cottage is a grade two listed Thatched Cottage with an open log fire. The cottage can sleep up to 6 people plus baby, and is available all year for holidays. Cherry Tree Cottage has a lovely 240 foot garden ideal for relaxing and children to play safely with a garden furniture and BBQ

The accommodation we are able to offer you is as follows:

    Ground floor

  • Hall - leading to an attractive Sitting/ Dining room,
    with patio doors to the south facing garden. With open
    log fire, Television and Video, CD player and radio and comfortable
    furniture.
  • Kitchen - well equipped with Fridge, Microwave, Electric
    Oven with ceramic hob, all kitchen utensils, cutlery and china,
  • Utility Room - with gas boiler providing constant hot water, and central heating, freezer and washing machine.
  • Bathroom - with bath and shower over.


    First Floor

  • One bedroom with a Double Bed and cot if required,

  • Second Bedroom with Double Bed and a single 'duo bed'
    which can make another double or a twin beds.
All heating, bed-linen and tea towels and towels are provided.


Comfortable lounge area where dogs are welcome


(but please keep them as quiet as possible as not to disturb the neighbours)

Cherry Tree Cottage is situated in the village of Downton which has ancient origins and remains and within walking distant of 2 public houses with very good food, and a further two public houses slightly further away. Shops include a local bakery, small supermarket, chemist and post office.

The Village itself is on the river Avon and is ideal for local walks, including a riverside walk to nearby Trafalgar House (home of Lord Nelson,) and the 18th century landscaped garden, The Moot.

As we are situated adjacent to the New Forest lovely days can be had enjoying the beautiful country side, watching the forest ponies and visiting the many attractions and museums throughout the area.

The city of Salisbury is only a 10 minute drive away, where you have the famous Cathedral and a weekly market on Tuesday's. Stone Henge is easy to visit from your base at Cherry Tree Cottage.

Parking is outside of front door in narrow lane or just across the village green in the village street.

Directions on how to find us


From M3 continue west on to the M 27, exit Junction 1, take the B3078 through the New Forest towards Fordingbridge, at Brook bear left and continue following sign to Fordingbridge, taking a right fork mid forest on to the B3080 Downton. On reaching Downton continue through the village, past the shops, over the river, the cottage sits behind the green just past the White Horse Pub on the left hand side.

From Salisbury, proceed south on the A338 towards Ringwood, Turn left at the traffic lights in Downton by "The Bull" and cottage is on the right-hand side, opposite a small park and before the White Horse Pub
