The Chocolate Box Cottage"
is situated about three miles from Fordingbridge on the edge of
the beautiful New Forest. This "chocolate box" cottage has featured
on numerous puzzles, calendars and confectionery boxes and is regarded
as one of the most photogenic properties in the area. Just a short
distance from the River Avon, it has open fields and country lanes
nearby and is situated next door to an Inn/Restaurant.
Set in grounds of half an acre, this Grade II listed cottage
is of high quality with an excellent standard of furnishings and
fittings. We therefore expect to welcome guests who will respect
and appreciate this kind of accommodation. Well behaved dogs are
very welcome and smoking is allowed in the cottage apart from the
bedrooms.
Lounge
Area
The lounge area consists of an inglenook fireplace,with
a Gas woodburner fire, beamed walls and ceilings, latch
style storage cupboards and leaded light windows. It is
fully furnished to a high standard and includes a television
and video. All curtains in this room and throughout the
property are hand made by a local interior design company
Dining
Room Consists of a pine dining table and seating for
six people. Hallway The hallway has ceramic tiled
flooring with stairs leading to the upstairs bedrooms. The
hallway also leads directly into the Lounge area. There
is also a payphone in the hallway. Bathroom The bathroom
consists of a Victorian style bath and shower attachment.

Kitchen
In
a truly delightful cottage style, the kitchen has beamed
ceilings and walls with a ceramic tiled flooring. There
is a range of pine wall and floor mounted units. Integral
appliances include a fridge, freezer, Neff dishwasher, washing
machine, gas cooker and microwave oven. There is a built
in dresser unit with glazed leaded display cabinets. Coffee
maker, toaster, kettle and iron are all supplied, along
with a full range of kitchen utensils, china and cooking
equipment. Also supplied is a CD Audio Player. French window
doors open out onto the front garden area.

Bedrooms
Master
Bedroom The master bedroom features a sloping floor
and ceilings with wood beams. Linen and duvets are supplied
for the double bed.
The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom Two The second bedroom again has sloping
floors and sloped ceilings incorporating a Victorian style
vanity wash hand basin. There is also a small portable television
within the room. Linen and duvets are supplied for a double
bed. Hairdryer available for use.
Bedroom Three The third bedroom is on the ground floor,
and consists of a pair of single beds (which can be put
together to act as a double bed). Duvets and linen are supplied.

Booking
arrangements
The
cottage would be available for occupation no earlier than
3.00 pm on your day of arrival, and up to 10.00 am on your
day of departure. A refundable deposit of £100 per booking,
to be held against damages or breakages will be necessary.
This will, of course, be returned should no damage occur
during your stay. An extra charge of £10.00 per week per
pet is applicable (Guide Dogs excepted). Weekend Breaks
(Friday night to Monday morning) and Short Breaks (Monday
night to Friday morning) are available out of High Season
