Kingfisher Retreat in the village of Blissford, near Fordingbridge has direct access to the New Forest and the Avon Valley.
Be prepared not to want to leave this lovely peice of paradise and to return again and again. Kingfisher Retreat is a lovely Thatched Cottage situated on its own unique small spring-fed lake with our own ornamental ducks. Surrounded by a wooded landscape garden where guests are welcome to stroll, relax, enjoy a picnic or a glass of wine (bring your own) and enjoy the wonderful wildlife, peace and tranquility.

Come and stay in the "Gardeners Lodge" secluded accommodation with its own private entrance nestling behind our thatched cottage home where a warm welcome awaits you by the Proprietors Chrissy and Martyn.

The Gardeners Lodge is very comfortably furnished and decorated with lots of little extra touches to make this an ideal hideaway. The accommodation comprises of a Double bed with en-suite shower room. A sitting area provides comfy armchairs, television and tea/coffee making facilities. We have even provided you with a dining table and chairs along with some crockery and cutlery if you would like to bring a takeaway in, to sit and admire the views over the lake.

The other room we are able to offer you is our "Cottage Room" within our home again with a very high standard of furnishings. This lovely room has a double bed, en-suite shower room, tea and coffee making facilities and colour television, with lovely views over the adjoining fields and country side.

Breakfast for both rooms are served in the Breakfast room overlooking the lake and gardens, and in chillier days the inglenook fireplace has a wood burning stove which creates a lovely warm atmosphere for you to enjoy Chrissy's scrumptious breakfasts using her own free-range eggs, homemade preserves and real-coffee or tea. Vegetarians are also so welcome and those with a lighter appetite.

Kingfisher Retreat has direct access on to the New Forest for cycling, horseriding, walking following the many signpost along the Anon Valley Way. Fordingbridge a riverside country town is only one mile away and there is a local bus it you wanted to leave the car behind. Fordingbridge has a variety of shops and restaurants and the home of Branksome China where you can have a factory tour. There are also so numerous attractions in the whole New Forest area without driving to far and details can be found with your hosts.

The Barn

The New Forest has an abundance of interesting country lanes that extend all the way to the coast. If you wish to explore or potter around, we are more than happy to accommodate cycles or motor cycles. If there are any owners of pre-war or classic cars who would enjoy some old-time style motoring, we could (by prior appointment) house your pride-and-joy in our barn where it would be in good company.
We could also find room for your modern car and trailer if you are bringing your older car from further afield.
